Here are some frequently asked questions I’ve been collecting from clients, questions that come during my chats, as well as my followers/subscribers.
It’s a live document, loosely categorised, and if you want more depth I expand upon them in my podcasts, interviews and published articles.
About the Win The Day Process
It certainly is!
Most of my clients are busy people with multiple “balls in the air”. The WTD tracking app functions as part of your weekly review routine (one of the key success markers of high performers) and helps us prepare for the call with pertinent growth questions and other key success markers.
This enables us to enter the call “hot,” and get right down to business dealing with the obstacles that were uncovered during the week, and implementing ways to leverage the lessons learned.
Our time is our most valuable resource (and most vulnerable) and I respect yours so you can get straight back into taking action and implementing.
I also offer a quarterly “Mind, Life & Road MAP” session for 1hr which checks that we are aligned and on the path to achieve our yearly goals.
I use an amazing mind map software called “Miro” and have built several templates to facilitate this goal-setting experience.
The initial session can take one to two 1hr sessions, and it’s highly recommended (mandatory) to complete the Goal-Setting Challenge (in my eBook) beforehand so we can make the most of our time together.
We use the same categories as you’ll find in the eBook – Financial Independence, Business/Career, Health & Fitness, and Family/Relationships (as taught to me by Brian Tracy). We can also add other categories like Personal Development or Spirituality as required.
We’ll work out what works best for you!
Accountability Coaching is a coaching niche I created at the end of 2022.
Practicing what I preach, I asked my clients, “What is the ONE Thing I did that made the most impact to our coaching?”
The responses surprised me somewhat! I wasn’t told that I was a “business/sales/leadership guru,” I wasn’t told that it was my energy and winning personality, either!
Instead, the answers I got were in line with,
“You hold my feet to the flames.”
“You’re like my drill-sergeant for discipline.”
“You keep me accountable when no-one else can.”
“You’re a trust advisor that won’t let me make up BS excuses.”
“You’re like my Personal Trainer but for productivity.”
And thus, the “Productivity PT” was born!
In a nutshell, I help you keep focused on what’s most important.
At the moment, the WTD App is only available to my accountability coaching clients. Whilst they can download their dashboard and tracker, we are working on a freely available option to extend the reach of this powerful form of coaching.
Productivity
In short, a goal is a dream with a deadline.
If you don’t add certain, pertinent elements to your dreams and desires to turn them into goals, they will remain as dreams.
Too many people go through life not actualising their dreams, which is the ultimate in regret and failure. One of my goals is to prevent this from occurring.
My eBook will help you turn your dreams into goals using neuroscience, and my coaching will help you implement the steps required to actually attain them.
The weekly review.
Build it into your routine, make it a weekly habit, reflect, implement and grow.
Take the lessons from one week and apply it to the next. Make incremental improvements to generate exponential results.
I get asked this pretty regularly and I’m always experimenting, testing and adjusting. Here are the 3 “hacks” that are a part of my daily life.
The key is to develop habits and routines or “hacks” that support your workflow and enable you to “Do Better, Be Better, and WIN the Day!”
Coaching
MVD Coaching (or Minimum Viable Dose Coaching) is in line with the minimum-viable “life-hacking” trends. Some people align it with the 80-20 rule or Pareto principle which is (from Wikipedia):
“The Pareto principle states that for many outcomes, roughly 80% of consequences come from 20% of causes (the “vital few”).[1] Other names for this principle are the 80/20 rule, the law of the vital few or the principle of factor sparsity.”[1][2]
As answered in my other FAQs above, we assessed that the final 10-15 minutes of our coaching calls we where the “magic happened” and the next steps and implementation was outlined. Why spend 1 hour in a call, when you can achieve (at least 80%) of the result from just 15minutes?
Supported by the WTD.io app, we are able to leverage our time even better, helping you:
Do Better, Be Better and WIN THE DAY
I don’t consider myself a Business Coach (not any more at least). Mostly, it’s because I’m not that “businessy” and I believe that you, the business owner have most of the skills and experience you require – you justness help to prioritise them, align them to your plan, and have some accountability assistance,
I don’t want to give away too much of my secret sauce, so here are the 6 main areas that we track via WinTheDay.io:
These have been revised and tested over time, drawn from books, courses and interviews with high performers.
About Ben
Probably!
My client intake is typically a couple of weeks before the beginning of each quarter, i.e. January, April, July and October.
I have some VIP slots available, but the best option is to book a chat and see if this style of coaching is for you. These slots are primarily available in the US, and Australasian timezones.
Whilst my coaching is not cheap, it is certainly more affordable than standard business and executive coaching from qualified, certified coaching.
Yes.
I am trained and certified by FocalPoint Coaching in Business Coaching, Executive Coaching and High-Performance Coaching. Additionally I have been trained as a Corporate Trainer through Brian Tracy International.
I am also qualified as a Military Instructor and previously certified as a Personal (Fitness) Trainer.
To best answer this, I recommend you connect with me on LinkedIn.
I’ve run multiple small and large businesses, held executive and operational positions, managed sales teams and assisted start-ups.
It’s been a long and broad journey, with many wins and failures along the way – experiences which I’ve turned into lessons and have applied where possible.
I’m certainly not a guru and if there’s anythign I can’t help with, I’ll be sure to refer you to someone in my global network.
I view “balance” more like a see-saw, constantly bobbing back and forth between our main focal points. It’s the regular reflections from a weekly review routine than help keep you balanced and aligned.
I created the WTD templates, and then later the app, to help me keep balanced and focused on what’s important. I’ve certainly failed a lot, and tried several coaches to help me along the way but I could never quite find the accountability and growth I was looking for.
The WTD App now keeps me aligned and squared away so I can apply lessons learned from week to week to remain “balanced.”
Morning routines are personal, and don’t let anyone tell you there is a single framework or silver bullet solution.
Except me 😉
(Just kidding!) The key elements are:
I’ve tested and adjusted my routine over years, and I’m still tweaking it. For now it (ideally) looks like this:
(from this stage Mondays and Tuesdays are very busy with accountability calls)
(Wed/Thurs I focus primarily on my Main effort first thing in the day, Fridays are my “creative & networking” days)
Evenings tend to be busy with kid’s sports, karate, another workout or beach walk, ADF, cooking dinner etc.
I focus on winding down 1.5hrs prior to sleeping (removing my phone, and not having in the bedroom)
